with Glenn Raymond Thomas, a Geneva-based spokesman for World Health
Organization, were two of a number of high-profile passengers who were
heading to an international AIDS conference in Melbourne, Australia.

Since
the earliest days of the fight against AIDS, we as a community have
understood the importance of taking time to remember and recognize the
loss of our loved ones. This Sunday, at the start of the opening session
of the 20th International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2014) in Melbourne,
Australia, we will honor those who died on Malaysian Airlines flight
MH17 through a special tribute delivered by their friends and colleagues.
